Commentary:  "CDC Now Pushes Gardasil HPV Shot On All Boys 11 To 12" [02/07/12] "Will hundreds of more websites soon be popping up telling the tragic tales of young men whose life was riddled with adverse effects after receiving the Gardasil vaccine? Based on the devastating history of the HPV shot Gardasil, the answer is most likely an unfortunate ‘yes’. Following the advice of an advisory panel who failed to examine the high number of adverse reactions and deaths associated with Gardasil use, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is now recommending that all boys between the ages of 11 and 12-years-old receive the Gardasil shot. The advisory panel and the CDC both fail to mention that Gardasil was linked to 3,589 harmful reactions and 16 deaths between May 2009 and September 2010 alone, which could be of major concern to parents considering injecting their children with the shot. Permanent disability was the result of 213 cases; 25 resulted in the diagnosis of Guillain-Barre Syndrome; and there were 789 other “serious” reports according to FDA documents. [...]" 

MSM: "New York’s Mysterious ‘Twitching’ Neurological Condition Spreading" [02/05/12] "State health officials have added three more names to a growing list of students in this working-class town who are experiencing mysterious tics and twitching, while authorities on Saturday sought to assure parents the community’s high school is safe. Although the symptoms are typically associated with Tourette Syndrome, that has been ruled out in all but one case, causing fear and confusion among many residents of Le Roy, N.Y., about 50 miles east of Buffalo. “The building is safe for the community,” District Superintendent Kim Cox told several hundred residents gathered in the auditorium of Le Roy Junior-Senior High School on Saturday. The Le Roy Central School District scrambled to conduct environmental testing for air quality and mold when an initial 12 students developed tics and impulsive verbal outbursts last fall. But state health investigators ruled out environmental factors, latent side-effects from drugs or vaccines like Gardasil, trauma or genetic factors. Instead, doctors say conversion disorder – once called mass hysteria – is to blame among an expanding list of patients. Three more unconfirmed cases have been added to the original list of students exhibiting the symptoms, and others are being examined. Air quality and mold surveys at the school have all come back negative, according to district officials and representatives of Leader Professional Services Inc., a company hired to conduct environmental testing at the school after the symptoms first surfaced. Senior Industrial Hygienist Mary Ellen Holvey on Saturday said air and water tests turned up nothing, and recommended follow-up testing of air inside the school.  [...]"  

MSM: "Genetically Modified Foods Not Served in Monsanto Cafeteria" [02/05/12] "The fight to ban genetically modified foods has won more converts — some employees of Monsanto the company that is doing the most to promote GM products. The Independent newspaper reports that there is a notice in the cafeteria of the Monsanto pharmaceutical factory is High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, advising customers “as far as practicable, GM soya and maize (has been removed) from all food products served in our restaurant. We have taken the steps to ensure that you, the customer, can feel confident in the food we serve.” The notice was posted by the Sutcliffe Catering Group. Monsanto confirms the authenticity of the notice, but company spokesman Tony Coombes says the only reason for the GM-free foods is because the company “believes in choice.” Coombes says in other Monsanto locations employees are happy to eat GM foods because they are “sprayed with fewer chemicals.” [...]"

Commentary: "FDA Whistleblower Lawsuit Sparks Congressional Investigation" [02/04/12] "... The lawsuit filed last week by the six whistleblowers details how the FDA began targeting employees for special monitoring after learning that the employees blew the whistle on managers' misconduct in approving unsafe medical devices. The Agency installed (or activated) spyware on their workplace computers and used other technology that to monitor their password-protected Gmail-to-Gmail communications and take of the employees' computer screens. The FDA's prolonged, covert monitoring of the whistleblowers continued even after the HHS Office of Inspector General denied the FDA's request to take any criminal and/or administrative action against the whistleblowers. In their letter of refusal, the OIG explicitly informed the FDA that the whistleblowers' communications to Congress were protected under law. The NWC issued an Action Alert strongly encouraging the public to send email to the President, FDA officials, and members of Congress demanding that the six whistleblowers be protected and targeted surveillance be halted throughout the government. Commentary: "Vaccine Induced Disease Epidemic Outbreaks" [02/03/12] "The year was 1921. America was entering a decade of robust prosperity. Later called “The Roaring Twenties”, it was a time of unparalleled economic expansion. Debt money from Wall Street banks was plentiful and easy to obtain. The “Great War” was over. America was flexing her industrial muscles. Factories were being built and expanded in every major city. Automobiles began rolling off Detroit assembly lines in record numbers. The stock market began making millionaires. People were HEALTHY and HAPPY – largely because the dreaded “world mystery disease” (which decades later became known as the “1918 Flu Pandemic”) had disappeared. Two entire years had passed with no dreaded “mystery deaths” being reported. America had cause to celebrate, and celebrate they did! MSM: "Farmers Issue Lawsuit Against Monsanto for Widespread Genetic Manipulation" [02/03/12] "The farmers are concerned that Monsanto’s aggressive agenda to genetically alter the planet will ultimately result in a severe threat to the organic integrity of farms worldwide. It is not hard to believe that many ‘organic’ farms have already been contaminated with GMO crops, as nearly 93% of soybeans are now admittedly genetically modified. The intent of the case is to dispute Monsanto’s patents on GMO seeds and ultimately safeguard farmers from Monsanto’s own vicious lawsuits. In fact, between 1997 and 2010, Monsanto actually filed 144 lawsuits against American family farmers. In addition, another 700 were settled out of court for unknown amounts. Monsanto has an agenda to take out American family farms and dominate the agricultural industry with their own mutant seeds. This is the same kind of practice that Monsanto operates outside of the United States as well, driving thousands of poor farmers to suicide by ruining their family farming practices. [...]"  

Commentary: "Monsanto-Funded Legislators Suppress WA’s GMO-Label Bills, Lie About Funding" [02/03/12] "If Washington State’s GMO-label bills, HB 2637 and SB 6298 don’t get voted out of committee by Friday at 5 pm, they’re dead, which is exactly what Monsanto-funded legislators on both the House and Senate Ag committees want. The Senate’s Agriculture and Water & Rural Economic Development committee chair, Democratic Sen. Brian Hatfield, and two Republicans, Sens. Jim Honeyford and Mark Schoesler, have all taken money from Monsanto, reports the Organic Consumers Assn. “Committee Chair Hatfield denies taking campaign cash from Monsanto, saying the Organic Consumers Fund is making ‘wild claims,’ even though anyone can see the public record of these contributions by entering ‘Monsanto’” at this search link in the Contributor Name box. Sucks to be caught lying in public, but when a public servant does, that man ought to step down or recuse himself from the vote. That’s what someone with morals would do, anyway. “If he’s willing to lie about being sold-out to Monsanto, don’t believe him when he says, ‘The truth is, this bill does not have the votes to pass out of committee.’ It’s more likely that he’s blocking the vote to protect Monsanto because the bill WOULD pass,” says OCA. The House Committee on Agriculture & Natural Resources also has two politicians sucking on Monsanto: the committee chair, Democratic Rep. Brian Blake and Republican Rep. Joel Kretz. Last week, two public hearings on the GMO-label bills were packed, with OCA transporting 50 people to each of them. [...]"  

MSM: "Ferroelectric Switching Discovered For First Time In Soft Biological Tissue" [02/01/12] "The researchers found that the wall of the aorta, the largest blood vessel carrying blood from the heart, exhibits ferroelectricity, a response to an electric field known to exist in inorganic and synthetic materials. The findings are being published in an upcoming issue of the journal Physical Review Letters. "The result is exciting for scientific reasons," said lead author Jiangyu Li, a UW associate professor of mechanical engineering. "But it could also have biomedical implications." A ferroelectric material is an electrically polar molecule with one side positively charged and the other negatively charged, whose polarity can be reversed by applying an electrical field. Ferroelectricity is common in synthetic materials and used for displays, memory storage, and sensors. (Related research by Li and colleagues seeks to exploit ferroelectric materials for tiny low-power, high-capacity computer memory chips.) In the new study, Li collaborated with co-author Katherine Zhang at Boston University to explore the phenomenon in biological tissues. The only previous evidence of ferroelectricity in living tissue was reported last year in seashells. Others had looked in mammal tissue, mainly in bones, but found no signs of the property. The new study shows clear evidence of ferroelectricity in a sample of a pig aorta. Researchers believe the findings would also apply to human tissue. In subsequent work, yet to be published, they divided the sample into fibrous collagen and springy elastin and studied each one on its own. Pinpointing the source of the ferroelectricity may answer questions about how or whether it plays a role in the body. "The elastin network is what gives the artery the mechanical property of elasticity, which of course is a very important function," Li said. [...]"  

MSM: "Drug-Resistant Bugs Found in Organic Meat" [02/01/12] "If you’re paying premium prices for pesticide- and antibiotic-free meat, you might expect that it’s also free of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Not so, according to a new study. The prevalence of one of the world’s most dangerous drug-resistant microbe strains is similar in retail pork products labeled “raised without antibiotics” and in meat from conventionally raised pigs, researchers have found. Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), a drug-resistant form of the normally harmless S. aureus bacterium, kills 18,000 people in the United States every year and sickens 76,000 more. The majority of cases are linked to a hospital stay, where the combination of other sick people and surgical procedures puts patients at risk. But transmission also can happen in schools, jails, and locker rooms (and an estimated 1.5% of Americans carry MRSA in their noses). All of this has led to a growing concern about antibiotic use in agriculture, which may be creating a reservoir of drug-resistant organisms in billions of food animals around the world. [...]"  

MSM: "FDA Fired Employees Who Warned Congress About Approvals of Dangerous Medical Devices" [01/31/12] "The Food and Drug Administration secretly monitored the personal e-mail of a group of its own scientists and doctors after they warned Congress that the agency was approving medical devices that they believed posed unacceptable risks to patients, government documents show. The surveillance — detailed in e-mails and memos unearthed by six of the scientists and doctors, who filed a lawsuit against the FDA in U.S. District Court in Washington last week — took place over two years as the plaintiffs accessed their personal Gmail accounts from government computers. Information garnered this way eventually contributed to the harassment or dismissal of all six of the FDA employees, the suit alleges. All had worked in an office responsible for reviewing devices for cancer screening and other purposes. [...]"  

Commentary:  "CDC Calls Morgellons’ Nanoworms A Delusion, Protects DARPA" [01/31/12] "Imagine having the mental prowess to be able to create living filaments heretofore unknown, that can reproduce themselves, some of which come with identifying letters embossed on them, and then to make them extrude from beneath your skin, all against your conscious will. Sound like science fiction? It’s not, says the US Centers for Disease Control. Despite having spent four years and $600,000, and using the world’s largest forensic database, the premier health agency reports it is unable to identify the source of the fibers emanating from those suffering with Morgellons. [1] The CDC suggests that four out of a hundred thousand people -- the rate of infection in Northern California -- are imagining these filaments into existence. Comprising an array of physical and mental symptoms [2], Morgellons is distinguished by novel fibers that protrude from the skin, causing lesions and sores that do not heal, or that heal very slowly. “We conducted an investigation of this unexplained dermopathy to characterize the clinical and epidemiologic features and explore potential etiologies,” the paper explains. MSM: "Judge Who Ruled Against Raw Milk In Wisconsin Quits To Work For Monsanto Law Firm" [01/31/12] "The Wisconsin judge who recently ruled that we have no right to own a cow or drink its milk resigned to join one of Monsanto’s law firms. Judge Fiedler ruled that humans: “Do not have a fundamental right to own and use a dairy cow or a dairy herd;” “Do not have a fundamental right to consume the milk from their own cow;” “Do not have a fundamental right to board their cow at the farm of a farmer;” “Do not have a fundamental right to produce and consume the foods of their choice;” and Cannot enter into private contracts without State police power intervention. His decision was rendered on Sept. 9 and he stepped down from the bench on Sept. 30. Former judge Patrick J. Fiedler now works for Axley Brynelson, LLP, which defended Monsanto against a patent infringement case filed by Australian firm, Genetic Technologies, Ltd. (GTL) in early 2010. [...]"  

MSM: "Turmeric, Curcumin Naturally Block Cancer Cells" [01/30/12] "Turmeric and curcumin have been highlighted as powerful anti-cancer substances in the past, but research has now shed even more light on the amazing ability of both turmeric and curcumin to actually block cancer growth. This is due to the unique ability of a main component in turmeric that is actually able to block an enzyme that promotes the spread of head and neck cancer. Researchers at UCLA found that curcumin — the primary component in turmeric also responsible for its color — exhibited these cancer-blocking properties during a study involving 21 participants suffering from head and neck cancers. The subjects were given two chewable curcumin tablets containing 1,000 miligrams of the substance each. After administering the chewable curcumin tablets, an independent lab in Maryland was in charge of evaluating the results. What the lab found was that the enzymes in the patients’ mouths responsible for promoting cancer spread and growth were inhibited by the curcumin supplementation. As a result, the curcumin intake halted the spread of the malignant cells. Curcumin has previously been found to reduce tumors by 81% in similarly shocking research, which also gives credence to the natural anti-cancer benefits of turmeric and curcumin intake. [...]"  

MSM: "Grape Seed Extract Kills Head and Neck Cancer Cells, Leaves Healthy Cells Unharmed" [01/29/12] " ... Grape seed extract creates these conditions that are unfavorable to growth. Specifically, the paper shows that grape seed extract both damages cancer cells’ DNA (via increased reactive oxygen species) and stops the pathways that allow repair (as seen by decreased levels of the DNA repair molecules Brca1 and Rad51 and DNA repair foci). Commentary:  "MIT Student Develops $3 Cutting-Edge Healing Device, Field Tested in Haiti" [01/27/12] "No one really knows why, but for an open wound, simply applying suction dramatically speeds healing times. (The theory is that the negative pressure draws bacteria out, and encourages circulation.) But for almost everyone, that treatment is out of reach–simply because the systems are expensive–rentals cost at least $100 a day and need to be recharged every six hours. No more. Danielle Zurovcik, a doctoral student at MIT, has created a hand-powered suction-healing system that costs about $3. The device is composed of an airtight wound dressing, connected by a plastic tube to a cylinder with accordion-like folds. Squeezing it creates the suction, which lasts as long as there’s no air leak. What’s more, where regular dressings need to be replaced up to three times a day–a painful ordeal–the new cuff can be left on for several days.  [...]"  

Commentary: "Effects of Tamiflu Still Uncertain, Warn Experts, as Roche Continues to Withhold Key Trial Data, According to New Report" [01/26/12] "The investigation also raises questions about Tamiflu's clinical effects. After careful evaluation of trial data, the Cochrane group say that Tamiflu appears to affect antibody production -- a claim that Roche refutes. This is important, say Cochrane, because influenza vaccination relies on an antibody response to be effective. But when asked by the BMJ, Roche refused to explain how the drug works. As such, the Cochrane group say that "until more is known about the mode of action of neuraminidase inhibitors, health professionals, patients and other decision makers need to reflect on the findings of this review before making any decision about the use of the drug." Cochrane also argue that Tamiflu's ability to prevent the spread of influenza has not been demonstrated in trials. Yet this is one of the main reasons governments around the world have spent billions of dollars stockpiling Tamiflu in case of a pandemic. Commentary:  "The Vaccination Agenda: An Implicit Transhumanism/Dehumanism" [01/25/12] "Let's face it: the only real justification for using vaccines to "immunize" ourselves against disease is derived from the natural fact that when challenged by infectious agents the humoral arm of our immune system launches a successful response capable of conferring lasting immunity. Were it not for the elegance, proficiency, and mostly asymptomatic success of our recombinatorial immune system in dealing so well with infectious challenges, vaccination would have no cause, no scientific explanation, no justification whatsoever. In fact, ever since the adaptive, antigen-specific immune system evolved in early vertebrates 500 million years ago, our bodies have been doing a pretty good job of keeping us alive on this planet without need for synthetic, vaccine-mediated immunity. Indeed, infectious challenges are necessary for the development of a healthy immune system and in order to prevent autoimmune conditions from emerging as a result of TH2 dominance. In other words, take away these natural infectious challenges, and the immune system can and will turn upon itself; take way these infectious challenges and lasting immunity against tens, if not hundreds of thousands of pathogens we are exposed to throughout our lives, would not be possible. Can vaccines really co-opt, improve upon, and replace natural immunity with synthetic immunity? How many will this require? Are we not already at the critical threshold of vaccine overload? By "improving" on our humanness in this way, are we not also at the same moment departing dramatically from it? [...]"  

Commentary: "Monsanto's GMO Corn Approved Despite 45,000 Public Comments in Opposition" [01/25/12] "As previously reported, while people were de-stressing and enjoying their much needed time off during the holidays, the United States Department of Agriculture announced its approval of Monsanto's 'drought tolerant' genetically engineered corn. The decision to give the green light to Monsanto regarding their GE corn didn't seem too difficult for the Obama Administration, despite receiving nearly 45,000 public comments voicing opposition and only 23 comments in favor since comments opened. Prepare to see this new GE corn unleashed into the environment as well as the American food supply. [...]" 

UK: "Puberty Delaying Injections Given To Gender-Confused Children" [01/24/12] "The NHS is giving injections of ‘puberty delay’ drugs to children who believe they have been born the wrong sex. The treatment was developed for children who suffer from a condition called gender identity disorder (GID), where a child believes their gender identity is different to their biological sex. The drugs, known as hypothalamic blockers, delay the onset of puberty by suppressing sex hormones. Experts believe this will give children the “space” to decide if they want to live as male or female, before the appearance of physical signs such as facial hair or breasts. Trials of the injections are being carried out at a clinic in North London run by the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation.  [...] Although GID diagnosis used to be rare, a 2011 report by the Gender Identity Research and Education Society (Gires), funded by the Home Office, found that the figure had trebled between 1998 and 2010, to 12,500. According to Gires, the figure of 12,500 only represents those who have presented themselves for treatment of the condition. They believe that the figure will continue to grow exponentially as publicity and availability of treatment increases. [...] "  

MSM: "Genetics Researcher Killed in Texas" [01/24/12] "A Texas medical student well-known in her community as an Iranian activist was mysteriously shot and killed in her car, just yards from her home. … Gelareh Bagherzadeh, 30, was driving through her Houston townhouse complex around midnight on Monday when she was shot dead through her car window. Bagherzadeh was studying molecular genetic technology at the Texas Medical Center. [...]"  Note:  Guess who did the deed? Flag for those maintaining lists of dead scientists.

MSM: "Stem Cells Reverse Blindness in Women" [01/24/12] " A new stem cell study has surprised scientists by restoring sight to two women who were slowly going blind, NPR reports. "I can't tell you how excited I am about this," says Steven Schwartz, a UCLA opthamologist leading the research. "For these patients, the impact is enormous." Scientists created retinal cells out of embryonic stem cells and injected them into the eyes of the two women—one suffering from Stargardt's macular dystrophy, the other from dry age-related macular degeneration. "One day, I looked down and I could see my watch," says one of the subjects. "I probably hadn't seen it in about a year and a half or two." The other, a graphic artist in her fifties, says she's doing chores more easily and even riding a bike. Doctors warn that the results are preliminary, but they're still thrilled, considering they were primarily trying to tell whether the cells were safe. It's only the second FDA-approved study since scientists discovered embryonic stem cells in 1998. [...]"  

MSM: "More Students Struck with ‘Mystery Illness,’ Parents Demand More Tests" [01/24/12] "A handful of Le Roy parents gathered Sunday for a face-to-face discussion on whether or not they accept the conversion disorder diagnosis. Other topics included offers to help that had been extended from other health professionals, and whether or not to demand further environmental testing of school grounds. Another topic for discussion: at least another 2 children have begun exhibiting similar symptoms as the other 12; and it’s possible that as many as 16 children have contracted this ‘mystery illness.’ (For obvious reasons, some parents are seeking to keep their children as far away from the media spotlight as possible.) MSM: "Pot-Based Drug Poised for FDA OK" [01/24/12] "A company developing a marijuana-based mouth spray for cancer pain is hoping for FDA approval by next year. British firm GW Pharma is already carrying out advanced clinical trials for Sativex, the first pharmaceutical developed from raw marijuana, reports AP. Sativex contains marijuana components delta 9-THC and cannabidiol, and has already been approved in eight European nations and Canada and New Zealand for easing muscle spasms linked to multiple sclerosis. FDA approval would be a major breakthrough in the stalemate between federal drug enforcement and the 16 states where medical marijuana is legal.  [...]"  

Commentary: "Scientists Say Delay Breastfeeding to ‘Improve’ Vaccine Potency" [01/24/12] "Scientists are now recommending that mothers delay vital breastfeeding in order to ‘improve’ the effects of vaccinations, stating that consuming breast milk could hamper the potency of vaccinations such as the rotavirus injection. The authors state that the immune-boosting effects of breast milk could negatively affect the vaccine potency. Of course the authors make no mention of the relationship between vaccination and over 189 diseases as observed by peer-reviewed research. The advisory is specifically targeted towards developing and poor nations, as is the norm with massive vaccination campaigns funded by the likes of the Bill Gates Foundation and the United Nations. [...]" 

Commentary: "Polio Vaccines Now The #1 Cause of Polio Paralysis" [01/19/12] "The Polio Global Eradication Initiative (PGEI), founded in 1988 by the World Health Organization, Rotary International, UNICEF, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, holds up India as a prime example of its success at eradicating polio, stating on its website (Jan. 11 2012) that "India has made unprecedented progress against polio in the last two years and on 13 January, 2012, India will reach a major milestone -- a 12-month period without any case of polio being recorded." This report, however, is highly misleading, as an estimated 100-180 Indian children are diagnosed with vaccine-associated polio paralysis (VAPP) each year. In fact, the clinical presentation of the disease, including paralysis, caused by VAPP is indistinguishable from that caused by wild polioviruses, making the PGEI's pronouncements all the more suspect. According to the Polio Global Eradication Initiative's own statistics2 there were 42 cases of wild-type polio (WPV) reported in India in 2010, indicating that vaccine-induced cases of polio paralysis (100-180 annually) outnumber wild-type cases by a factor of 3-4. Even if we put aside the important question of whether or not the PGEI is accurately differentiating between wild and vaccine-associated polio cases in their statistics, we still must ask ourselves: should not the real-world effects of immunization, both good and bad, be included in PGEI's measurement of success? For the dozens of Indian children who develop vaccine-induced paralysis every year, the PGEI's recent declaration of India as nearing "polio free" status, is not only disingenuous, but could be considered an attempt to minimize their obvious liability in having transformed polio from a natural disease vector into a man-made (iatrogenic) one. MSM: "Cancer Drugs Could Cause Tumours To Spread, Rather Than Preventing Them, Warns Study" [01/18/12] "Cancer drugs that are designed to shrink tumours by cutting off the supply to their blood may be doing the opposite and helping them spread to other parts of the body, a study has warned. Researchers from Harvard Medical School in Boston investigated the drugs in question, Glivec and Sutent, and discovered that although it’s proven that they reduce the size of the cancer tumour – it could also make them more aggressive and mobile as a result. Experts looked at a little-studied group of cells called pericytes, which provide structural support to the blood vessels and act as a ‘gatekeeper’ that stops tumours growing. However, these pericyte cells are wiped out by advanced cancer drug treatments that are designed to prevent the growth, meaning the tumour has more freedom to ‘metastasise’, or spread, around the body. Glivec, the brand name of the drug imatinib, and Sutent, also known as sunitinib, have both shown to significantly increase patient survival rates. However, researchers argue that ultimately, these drugs could be making the cancers more deadly, as metastasis to vital organs, such as the liver or brain, are two chief causes of cancer deaths. The study, published in the Cancer Cell journal, came to this conclusion after removing pericytes from breast cancer tumours in genetically engineered mice. Throughout the following 25 days, researchers saw a 30% decrease in tumour growth but a three-fold increase in the number of secondary tumours growing in the animals’ lungs.  [...]"

One involved the mechanism in human cells in the lab, while and the other proved itself on liver tissue in rats. The two discoveries have not yet been tested clinically. Prof. Ran Tur-Kaspa, from the Rabin Medical Center- Beilinson Campus, and his team worked on hepatitis C, the major factor in chronic liver disease that can lead to cirrhosis. It is also the main cause in the Western world of organ failure requiring a liver transplant and is one of the causes of primary liver cancer. [...] Antiviral treatment can help in half the cases, but the side effects are serious even if the treatment is effective. Tur-Kaspa, a liver specialist and researcher who is dean of the Galilee Medical Faculty in Safed, said there is a constant search for medications and other technologies that are more effective and accompanied by fewer side effects. He and his team investigated ordinary vitamin D, which is already taken by many people as prevention for numerous diseases, to see whether it had any effect on hepatitis C and on liver cells that host it. They discovered, and published in Hepatology, a peer-reviewed medical journal, that vitamin D directly halts the activity of viruses in general and hepatitis C in particular. They also found that a system for actively producing vitamin D is found in liver cells and can activate the immune system and repress the virus. The research showed without doubt that vitamin D functions in the liver cell, and it causes an increase in naturally produced interferon and repression of the production of the virus, said Dr. Romy Zemel, who was part of the team. The research proves that integrating the use of interferon and vitamin D boosts the effects synergistically, beyond the effects of each alone. Interferons are a family of naturally occurring proteins that are made and secreted by immune-system cells. Thus, with the right combination, said the Beilinson researchers, one could destroy the virus. Their discovery was made serendipitously. Vitamin D is produced as a result of exposure to the sun or taken in the diet or by supplements. Its classic role, said Tur-Kaspa, is to protect the balance of calcium and phosphorus in the body. Over the years, additional influences such as on the immune system became clear, and at the same time, vitamin D became popular as a number of health benefits were reported. The Beilinson discovery of the weakening of the hepatitis C virus in the presence of the vitamin opens up a potential treatment for the infections, so one can improve the efficacy of treatment while reducing the dosage of interferon, said Tur- Kaspa."

Haiti had never seen a case of cholera until the arrival of the peacekeepers, who allegedly failed to maintain sanitary conditions at their base. "What scares me is that the strain from South Asia has been recognized as more virulent, more capable of causing severe disease, and more transmissible," said John Mekalanos, who chairs the Department of Microbiology and Immunobiology at Harvard Medical School. "These strains are nasty. So far there has been no secondary outbreak. But Haiti now represents a foothold for a particularly dangerous variety of this deadly disease." MSM: "New Paraben ‘Link' To Breast Cancer Risks" [01/13/12] "New scientific evidence has indicated that common preservative chemicals found in underarm antiperspirants and thousands of other everyday products, can be detected in breast cancer tumours. These chemical agents, also known as parabens, are found in many toiletries like face wash, shampoos and make-up, as well as, processed meats and pastries and even in the contraceptive Pill. However, this study focused on the possibility that antiperspirants may ‘soak’ through the armpit skin. Scientists from the University of Reading believe there is an important link between these chemicals and breast cancer after studying the samples of 20 different human breast tumours taken from mastectomies between 2005 and 2008. Researchers measured the concentration of parabens in the tissue of the breast, from armpit to breast bone. They detected parabens in these samples with a concentration of 20.6 ng per gram of tissue. The chemicals discovered were in their ester form, rather than metabolite form, which suggests that the route of entry was topical, not oral. Even though few of these women had used deodorants, 99% of the samples contained one or more paraben, while 60% of the tissue samples contained traces of all five of the most commonly used parabens. Although the link between parabens and breast cancer have been highlighted before in previous studies, with it first coming to light in 1998, the latest discovery is more significant, claims lead author of the study, Dr Philippa Darbre. "Parabens are used as preservatives in thousands of cosmetic, food and pharmaceutical products but this is the first study to show their accumulation in human tissues," Dr Darbre explains. "It demonstrates that if people are exposed to these chemicals, then the chemicals will accumulate in their bodies. Their detection in human breast tumours is of concern since parabens have been shown to be able to mimic the action of the female hormone oestrogen and oestrogen can drive the growth of human breast tumours.  [...]"

Study: "Antidepressants Cause Arteries to Thicken 400% More Than Aging" [01/09/12] "Depression may be the worst emotional experience there is. The causes are many, and it often drives people to zig-zag past everything that matters and into a pill bottle of pharmaceutical ‘treatments’. But these solutions offered by the pharmaceutical industry are nothing but a sham, and their antidepressant products only make you more depressed and trigger suicidal thoughts. One study has also found that antidepressants cause your arteries to thicken 400% more than aging – a main factor in the thickening of the arteries. A study conducted by the Emory University School of Medicine included over 500 middle-aged male twins, both who served in the U.S. military during the Vietnam War. The researchers noted that among 59 pairs of twins where only one brother was on antidepressants, the one ingesting the drugs usually had higher carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) – the thickness of main arteries in the neck. 'One of the strongest and best-studied factors that thickens someone’s arteries is age, and that happens at around 10 microns per year…In our study, users of antidepressants see an average 40 micron increase in IMT, so their carotid arteries are in effect four years older,' says the first study author Amit Shah, MD. The most commonly prescribed antidepressants are known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), such as Prozac. [...]" 

MSM: "Doctor Linking MMR Vaccine And Autism Sues Critics" [01/07/12] "Andrew Wakefield, the doctor whose 1998 study proposed a long-discredited link between autism and the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine is to sue for damages following accusations made a year ago that his research was fraudulent. Wakefield's MMR-autism claims were seriously undermined in 2010 when The Lancet retracted his original study. In the same year, he was banned from practising as a doctor by the UK General Medical Council (GMC) for "fundamental failings in his duty as a doctor" that emerged from a three-year investigation into the MMR vaccine affair, the longest in the GMC's history. In its verdict, the GMC's investigating panel identified "transgressions in many aspects of Dr Wakefield's research [and] findings of dishonesty in regard to his writing of a scientific paper that had major implications for public health". It also accused him of dishonestly failing to declare to The Lancet that he had a patent on a competing vaccine, called Transfer Factor. A year ago, the British Medical Journal weighed in with another damning claim: that the original research was fraudulent and that Wakefield manipulated the data and diagnoses of the 12 children in his study to fix the case against the MMR vaccine. Now, it appears Wakefield is fighting back. In a suit launched on 5 January in Texas, he is suing the British investigative journalist Brian Deer for articles he wrote in the BMJ in January last year, and the journal's editor Fiona Godlee for editorials she wrote supporting Deer's investigations. Wakefield is also suing the journal itself and its publishers. The suit reveals that Wakefield's action is not an attempt to resurrect his original claim that the MMR vaccine causes autism. Rather, his main objective is to defend his personal integrity and professional reputation by challenging allegedly false and malicious claims by Deer that he deliberately manipulated and falsified data and diagnoses. Deer claimed in his analysis, for example, that three of nine children reported with regressive autism didn't actually have autism. The suit says this is false and that "based on the clear underlying evidence, these subjects did suffer from autism".  Wakefield's suit also challenges Deer's assertions that in some of the children, symptoms of autism began before they had their MMR jabs. Deer says that in child 11, for example, symptoms appeared two months earlier than reported in The Lancet and before the jab, but Wakefield insists that according to the father of the child, symptoms did not arise until after the vaccination.  [...]"

MSM: "Mysterious Nodding Syndrome Spreading Through Uganda" [01/05/12] "Large areas of northern Uganda are experiencing an outbreak of nodding syndrome, a mysterious disease that causes young children and adolescents to nod violently when they eat food. The disease, which may be an unusual form of epilepsy, could be linked to the parasitic worm responsible for river blindness, a condition that affects some 18 million people, most of them in Africa. The current outbreaks are concentrated in the districts of Kitgum, Pader and Gulu. In Pader alone, 66 children and teenagers have died. More than 1000 cases were diagnosed between August and mid-December. Onchocerca volvulus, a nematode worm that causes river blindness, is known to infest all three affected districts. Nearly all the children with nodding syndrome are thought to live near permanent rivers, another hint of a connection with river blindness. There is no known cure for nodding syndrome, so Uganda's Ministry of Health has begun using anticonvulsants such as sodium valproate to treat its signs and symptoms. Meanwhile the disease is continuing to spread, say Janet Oola, Pader's health officer, and Sam William Oyet, the district's medical entomology officer. It has now reached the Ugandan district of Yumbe, which borders the Republic of South Sudan – and cases have also been reported in the southern region of the world's newest country. [...]"

Health Department Spokesman Peter Constantakes told 2 On Your Side Monday morning that what they did conclude is that other students and staff are not at risk and there have been no other cases reported. While a cause has not been found, they are confident that the conditions and symptoms the students are exhibiting are real and not a figment of imagination or power of suggestion. Constantakes says this type of outbreak is extremely unusual, and they were not able to find another like it. In cases that showed similarities, stress factors seemed to play a role in the patient's symptoms. The Le Roy School District issued a statement to parents and residents over the holiday week explaining the situation and reaffirming that the health, safety and well being of students and school staff is their top priority. Superintendent Cox also said that they would provide no further comment on the issue." [...]" 

UK: "Drug Studies Being Suppressed By Researchers, Could Hurt Patients" [01/05/12] "A British medical journal says a worrying number of drug studies are being suppressed by researchers and that the lack of public data could threaten patient safety. One study described by the BMJ journal found the results of fewer than half of drug trials paid for by the U.S. National Institutes for Health were published in a scientific journal within 30 months of being finished. The U.S. agency spends about $3.5 billion sponsoring more than 100,000 clinical trials worldwide. Previous studies have found one quarter to one half of clinical trials are unpublished for various reasons, including companies sitting on information that could hurt sales, journals uninterested in publishing negative results and academics fearful of releasing results that contradict their original hypothesis.  [...]"  

Exposé: "French Company Used Industrial Fuel Additives In Its Breast Implants" [01/04/12] "Thousands of women have had to get their breast implants removed after a French company, Poly Implant Prothese (PIP), admitted that they had used industrial grade silicone in the implants. Not only was this class of silicone not approved for medical use, but some of it also contained fuel additives. Basically, PIP pumped some plastic bags full of silicone intended for use with fuels and food products - and then sold them as implants. Not surprisingly, the implants had a high breakage rate and many women had to get them removed even before news of the company's misdeeds was made public in 2010.  [...]" 

Commentary:  "Edible Mushrooms: Nature's Most Researched Anti-Cancer Agent" [01/02/12] "Over the course of the past few years we have uncovered a remarkable body of research on the medicinal properties of mushrooms. In fact, when it comes to natural cancer research, no other category has been the subject of more human clinical research than AHCC and Lentinan, both unique preparations of shiitake mushroom. AHCC stands for active hexose correlated compound, and is classified as a functional food made from hybridized mycelia of shiitake (and sometimes other mushrooms) in rice bran. It contains both alpha- and beta-glucan polysaccharides, well-known modulators of host immunity. Lentinan, also from shiitake (Lentinula edodes), is exclusively beta-glucan. "Would it be so strange that they've invented technology to spread cancer and we won't know about it for 50 years?" Chavez was diagnosed with cancer last June and has been traveling to Cuba for treatment and chemotherapy. On Tuesday, Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Other South American leaders who have battled the disease are Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, her predecessor Luiz Inacio Lula Da Silva and Paraguay's Fernando Lugo. [...]"  

MSM: "Metabolic Modulation of Glioblastoma with Dichloroacetate" [12/29/11] "Solid tumors, including the aggressive primary brain cancer glioblastoma multiforme, develop resistance to cell death, in part as a result of a switch from mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation to cytoplasmic glycolysis. This metabolic remodeling is accompanied by mitochondrial hyperpolarization. We tested whether the small-molecule and orphan drug dichloroacetate (DCA) can reverse this cancer-specific metabolic and mitochondrial remodeling in glioblastoma. Freshly isolated glioblastomas from 49 patients showed mitochondrial hyperpolarization, which was rapidly reversed by DCA. [...]"  Note:  The short version is that dichloroacetate (DCA) causes regression in several cancers, including lung, breast, and brain tumors. But don't expect it to be available any time soon. The reason? Conventional cancer chemotherapy runs $9000 a month and DCA only costs $100 a month.

MSM: "FDA Won’t Act Against Agricultural Antibiotic Use" [12/27/11] "... There is a lot of background to this, but here is the takeaway: For 34 years, the FDA has been contending that administering small doses of antibiotics to healthy animals is an inappropriate use of increasingly scarce drugs — a position in which it is supported by organizations as mainstream as the American Medical Association. With this withdrawal, it backs away from the actions it took to support that assertion — which may indicate there will be no further government action on the issue until after the 2012 election. In the Federal Register, the FDA says that it plans instead to “focus its efforts for now on the potential for voluntary reform and the promotion of the judicious use of antimicrobials in the interest of public health.” That’s a reference to a draft guidance that the FDA put forward in the summer of 2010, which proposes that large-scale agriculture voluntarily stop using those “subtherapeutic” small doses, and also stop giving any antibiotic doses to animals unless veterinarians prescribe them. Two things to note there: After 18 months, the guidance is still in draft, and has never been finalized; and even in draft, the industry opposes it, calling into question the likelihood of “voluntary” adherence if it were to become final. Published in 2007 in the journal Planta Medica, researchers found that an enzyme extracted from pineapple stems known as bromelain was superior to the chemo-agent 5-fluorauracil in treating cancer in the animal model. The researchers stated: This antitumoral effect [bromelain] was superior to that of 5-FU [5-fluorouracil], whose survival index was approximately 263 %, relative to the untreated control. [...]" 

Canada: "HIV Vaccine: Fda Approves Human Trials Of Promising Vaccine, Uses Killed Whole Virus" [12/21/11] "Canadian researchers have been given the green light for human testing of an experimental HIV vaccine, but the initial trial will determine only its safety, not whether the vaccine works to prevent infection with the virus. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration granted approval for researchers at the University of Western Ontario to test the vaccine, which is based on a genetically modified killed whole virus. The SAV001 vaccine, developed by the lab of Dr. Chil-Yong Kang with financial support from Sumagen Canada, has been shown to stimulate a strong immune response in preliminary toxicology tests. "FDA approval for human clinical trials is an extremely significant milestone for our vaccine, which has the potential to save the lives of millions of people around the world by preventing HIV infection," suggested Kang, whose research lab has spent the last 10 years developing the vaccine at a cost of about $10 million. [...]"  Note: They'll never get tired of trying to technologically replace and manipulation the immune system. Regardless, there is not enough time left within their own paradigm for the additional 'clinical trials' to be done.

MSM: "UW Bird Flu Research Seen As Bioterror Threat" [12/20/11] "A University of Wisconsin-Madison scientist who is an expert on the avian flu virus is under scrutiny because of concerns his new research may fall into the wrong hands. The scientist is Yoshihiro Kawaoka, an eminent professor of virology in the School of Veterinary Medicine who has done research on H5N1, also known as the avian bird flu. His work and similar research independently done by a Dutch scientist have raised concerns in science journals and on an NBC News report that aired Thursday night that touched on such controversial issues as bioterrorism and scientific freedom. Kawaoka has created a contagion virus in his lab, a UW official confirmed. But the official said he couldn't discuss the nature of the virus because it would compromise the publication of Kawaoka's research. A Science magazine report detailing the work done by Dutch scientist Ron Fouchier of the Erasmus Medical Center in the Netherlands reported that Fouchier had developed a man-made H5N1 avian influenza strain that had been genetically altered and is now easily transmissible between ferrets. Fouchier reported that studies show that any influenza strain passed among ferrets has also been transmissible among humans and vice versa. The Science report, which focused on Fouchier's studies, said Kawaoka's research came up with comparable results. "The research by the Kawaoka and Fouchier teams set out to answer a question that has long puzzled scientists. Does H5N1, which rarely causes human disease, have the potential to trigger a pandemic?" the magazine reported. In response, UW spokesman Terry Devitt said Science magazine had not seen Kawaoka's research. "Equating the two is a mistake," Devitt said in an email. [...]" 

MSM: "Flame Retardant Chemical Banned In Europe And Japan Used In U.S. Soda For Decades" [12/19/11] "If you live in the United States and drink citrus-flavored sodas such as Mountain Dew, you may be ingesting this substance that has health professionals up in arms. A synthetic chemical known as brominated vegetable oil (BVO) — first patented by chemical companies as a flame retardant — is increasingly being identified as a threat to your health, but soda companies still have yet to remove BVO as an ingredient. Added to about 10% of sodas in North America for decades, BVO has reportedly led to soda-drinkers experiencing skin lesions, memory loss, and nerve disorders. Interestingly, these are all the symptoms of overexposure to bromine. What is most concerning is the fact that studies have found that BVO can actually build up in human tissue, accumulating in large quantities over long periods of soda consumption. [...]"

Given how much high-fructose corn syrup is consumed by children, it could be a significant additional source of mercury never before considered. UK: "One In 100 Pupils 'Sick With Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Also Known As Myalgic Encephalomyelitis " [12/14/11] "A study following 2,855 pupils at three schools, published in the online journal BMJ Open, found 28 missed school with chronic fatigue syndrome. The researchers said the effect was "potentially devastating". A charity said the true figure was likely to be even higher. The cause of chronic fatigue syndrome is unknown and there is no known cure. It is a medical condition rather than just schoolchildren staying up too late. It results in extreme tiredness as well as problems with memory and concentration. The researchers looked at every pupil between the age of 11 and 16 at three secondary schools in Bath. The 461 pupils who were absent for at least a day a week in a six-week term were investigated further. [...]"  

MSM: "Rare Gene Links Vitamin D Deficiency And Multiple Sclerosis" [12/09/11] "A rare genetic variant which causes reduced levels of vitamin D appears to be directly linked to multiple sclerosis, says an Oxford University study. UK and Canadian scientists identified the mutated gene in 35 parents of a child with MS and, in each case, the child inherited it. Researchers say this adds weight to suggestions of a link between vitamin D deficiency and MS. The study is in Annals of Neurology. Multiple sclerosis is an inflammatory disease of the central nervous system (the brain and spinal cord). Although the cause of MS is not yet conclusively known, both genetic and environmental factors and their interactions are known to be important. [...]"  

MSM: "Australian Journalist Wins Prestigious Award for Exposing Flu Vaccine Scandal" [12/08/11] "Natasha Bita, a journalist for The Australian has just won a Walkley Award (the Australian equivalent of a Pulitzer Prize) for an in-depth article series on the CSL Afluria flu vaccine, a shot that caused convulsions in one percent of Australian infants who received it. To put this vaccine scandal in perspective, the CDC states that ‘seizures can occur after vaccination,’ 33% of infants who have a first seizure will have more seizures and 10% of infants who have one seizure can develop epilepsy. According to the Merck Manual (the largest-selling medical textbook), seizures are a symptom of encephalitis, which the Merck Manual defines as a vaccine adverse reaction. Vaccine-induced encephalitis can leave a spectrum of permanent brain damage in its wake – post-encephalitic syndrome (aka epilepsy and autism). In other words, kids that have convulsions from Afluria can have lifelong neurological disabilities. Incredibly, the defective CSL flu vaccine Afluria is still on the market in the US: FDA-approved and CDC-recommended. The only concession US vaccine authorities have made to this Afluria scandal is to raise the recommended age for this vaccine, but even that feeble response is colored by a direction to give Afluria to young kids anyway if no other flu vaccine is available. This vaccinate-at-any-cost mentality displays the utter depravity of US vaccine authorities. They really don’t care about vaccine adverse reactions or the victims of defective vaccines. When vaccine regulators are so transparently irresponsible, it is up to individuals and families to defend their own health by rejecting the gung-ho vaccine recommendations of the CDC, FDA and medical profession. This award is a smack in the face to asleep-at-the-wheel US journalists, who are being instructed by the National Press Foundation (at the behest of Seth Mnookin, Gates’ GAVI vaccine alliance and minions of Paul Offit) to censor all negative reports on vaccine issues and stick to big pharma’s and the CDC’s party line. MSM: "Hungary Destroys All Monsanto GMO Corn Fields" [12/06/11] "Hungary has taken a bold stand against biotech giant Monsanto and genetic modification by destroying 1000 acres of maize found to have been grown with genetically modified seeds, according to Hungary deputy state secretary of the Minstry of Rural Development Lajos Bognar. Unlike many European Union countries, Hungary is a nation where genetically modified (GM) seeds are banned. In a similar stance against GM ingredients, Peru has also passed a 10 year ban on GM foods. Almost 1000 acres of maize found to have been ground with genetically modified seeds have been destroyed throughout Hungary, deputy state secretary of the Ministry of Rural Development Lajos Bognar said. The GMO maize has been ploughed under, said Lajos Bognar, but pollen has not spread from the maize, he added. Unlike several EU members, GMO seeds are banned in Hungary. The checks will continue despite the fact that seek traders are obliged to make sure that their products are GMO free, Bognar said. During the investigation, controllers have found Pioneer Monsanto products among the seeds planted. [...]"

MSM: "High Arsenic Levels In Fruit Juices, New Study Says" [12/01/11] "Arsenic levels in some apple juice and grape juice samples tested higher than what's considered safe, according to a study by Consumer Reports. The study found that 10 percent of the sampled juices contained arsenic levels higher than the 10 parts per billion regulation for drinking water set by the Food and Drug Administration, according to a FOX News analysis of the results. Researchers measured 88 samples of apple and grape juices from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. A majority of the arsenic found in the samples was the inorganic or "harmful" kind. Several apple juice brands had at least one sample with harmful arsenic levels, including Apple & Eve, Walmart's Great Value, and Mott's. Walgreens brand and Welch's grape juices both contained more than the standard amount, according to Consumer Reports. The concern lies in the harmful, chronic effects that high arsenic levels can have on younger children, many of whom already drink more juice than is recommended by doctors. [...]"

In 2004 Merck was forced to pull Vioxx off the market due to its link with over 27,000 heart attacks and sudden cardiac death. This pull was after Vioxx had been approved for 5 years, which shows that either the company failed miserably to make these problems evident through tests and studies, or the problems with Vioxx were knowingly hidden. Merck has been found to hide severe adverse reactions and side effects in the past, with the company failing to mention the link between the Gardasil vaccine and death— or even the other 3,589 harmful reactions. Whether Vioxx’s pull from the market caused a massive stir, or people were finally tying their problems to the drug, Merck was not too happy in 2007. The company ended up paying a whopping $4.85 billion to settle nearly 50,000 lawsuits directly related to Vioxx. The settlement which Merck is paying for resolves allegations that Merck made the false claims and unproven statements surrounding the safety of Vioxx in order to increase sales. Merck states that there is no “basis” to prove upper-level management in the company had anything to do with the profit- generating false advertisements. While this statement is unlikely true and expressed in lawyer talk, the company portrays an incredible lack of responsibility with their upper management allegedly not involved. [...] Let’s not forget that Merck is the same company pushing deadly Gardasil on young boys and girls, even without parental consent. The Gardasil shot led to 3,589 harmful reactions and 16 deaths between May 2009 and September 2010 alone. Of the 3,589 adverse reactions, many were debilitating. Permanent disability was the result of 213 cases; 25 resulted in the diagnosis of Guillain-Barre Syndrome; there were 789 other “serious” reports according to FDA documents. MSM: "Tumors Use Protein Recycling To Grow" [11/22/11] "A new research carried out on a variety of human tissues, suggests that recycling of protein in the body could be an important part of tumor formation. According to the report published in Science Translational Medicine, researchers found that protein recycling was accelerated in more than 30 types of cancerous cell. Scientists studied chaperone-mediated autophagy (CMA) which is a normal part of a cell’s routine and recycles the raw materials, the state-funded BBC reported. Results showed that the level of CMA activity was higher in cancerous cells than normal ones. The findings also demonstrated that cancerous cells use CMA process in order to fuel their abnormally rapid growth. Scientists hope to develop an anticancer drug by finding a chemical that would interfere with the recycling process. [...]"

The case has exposed the fact that there is an ongoing semi-covert movement by state and federal governments to claim ownership of every newborn baby’s DNA for the purpose of genetic research without the consent of individual citizens. The Minnesota Court ruled Wednesday that the Minnesota Department of Health is violating the law in storing, using and disseminating newborn screening test results and newborn DNA. Overruling a lower court’s decision, the state Supreme Court found that the samples are “Genetic Information” under the State Genetic Privacy Act, and held that “unless otherwise provided, the Department must have written informed consent to collect, use, store, or disseminate [the blood samples].” In 2003, The Citizens’ Council for Health Freedom (CCHF), formerly known as The Citizens’ Council on Health Care (CCHC), discovered that The Minnesota Department of Health had been indefinitely storing the blood of newborns since the mid 1980s, and using the samples for purposes beyond the State’s newborn screening program since 1997. The state treated the activity as an “opt out” program, whereby if the parents of the newborn infant do not specifically opt out of the process, the state presumes its has “informed consent” and that the parents have opted in. Consequently, the DNA of nearly a million children is considered government property under Minnesota law. Without the knowledge or consent of the person or their parents, the government has been selling the DNA for genetic research purposes. [...]"

The European Commission, which enforces common policies of the 27 member countries, adopted the rule "in order not to risk jeopardizing citizens' health and safety." As a ProPublica/PBS NewsHour investigation detailed earlier this month [2], X-ray body scanners use ionizing radiation, a form of energy that has been shown to damage DNA and cause cancer. Although the amount of radiation is extremely low, equivalent to the radiation a person would receive in a few minutes of flying, several research studies have concluded that a small number of cancer cases would result from scanning hundreds of millions of passengers a year. The US researchers studied information about the twins' lifetime exposures to six solvents previously associated with Parkinson's disease (PD) in the medical literature. A significant link was found with one, trichloroethylene (TCE). Exposure to the chemical increased the likelihood of developing Parkinson's disease by more than six times. Dr Samuel Goldman, from the Parkinson's Institute in Sunnyvale, California, said: "Our study confirms that common environmental contaminants may increase the risk of developing PD, which has considerable public health implications." Immunization Program: Children To Receive Three Additional Vaccines Starting January" [11/15/11]   "The B.C. government is adding three more vaccines to its free childhood immunization program starting in January. One vaccine will target the rotavirus to help protect babies from diarrhea and vomiting, and infants born on or after Nov. 1, 2011, will be eligible. The first dose is administered at two months of age, followed by a second dose when babies are four months old. A chicken pox booster shot will also be added to the program for children four to six years of age. The government will also be offering the hepatitis A vaccine to all aboriginal infants and children to try to reduce the incidence of the disease among First Nations people. MSM: "The Nocebo Effect" [11/13/11] "Can just telling a man he has cancer kill him? In 1992 the Southern Medical Journal reported the case of a man who in 1973 had been diagnosed with cancer and given just months to live. After his death, however, his autopsy showed that the tumour in his liver had not grown. His intern Clifton Meador didn't believe he'd died of cancer: "I do not know the pathologic cause of his death," he wrote. Could it be that, instead of the cancer, it was his expectation of death that killed him? This death could be an extreme example of the "nocebo effect" - the flip-side to the better-known placebo effect. While an inert sugar pill (placebo) can make you feel better, warnings of fictional side-effects (nocebo) can make you feel those too. This is a common problem in pharmaceutical trials and a 1980s study found that heart patients were far more likely to suffer side-effects from their blood-thinning medication if they had first been warned of the medication's side-effects. This poses an ethical quandary: should doctors warn patients about side-effects if doing so makes them more likely to arise? The nocebo effect can also be highly infectious. In 1962, 62 workers at a US dressmaking factory were suddenly stricken with headaches, nausea and rashes, and the outbreak was blamed upon an insect arriving from England in a delivery of cloth. No insect was ever found, and "mass psychogenic illnesses" like these occur worldwide, usually affecting close communities and spreading most rapidly to female individuals who have seen someone else suffering from the condition. [...]" 

UK: "300,000 Doses Of Flu Vaccine Preflucel Withdrawn In Alert Over Side-Effects" [11/13/11] "Baxter Healthcare Corp. has announced it is recalling roughly 300,000 doses of its Preflucel influenza vaccine due to what it says is an excessive number of adverse events. Baxter is the same drug company that was caught inserting Avian Flu Virus into flu vaccines back in 2009. The flu vaccine has been recalled from thousands of surgeries and pharmacies across Europe amid fears it is making people ill. The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has issued a warning over Preflucel, a "popular" influenza vaccine. Around 300,000 doses of the drug are to be immediately withdrawn following fears from health bosses that the most recent batch, issued last month, is causing side-effects. A high percentage of those vaccinated with Preflucel have reported fatigue, muscle pain and headaches. [...]"  

Commentary:  "Psychiatric Drugs, School Violence, and the Big Pharma Cover-up" [11/07/11] "... One of the more foggy areas of modern science (at least that which is presented to members of the general public) is the study of genetics, pharmacogenetics, and genotyping. This area is one, like many others, that shows a great deal of promise for human health and potential; yet, also like many others, it is one that has been beset with political and philosophical ideologies as well as the iron-fisted control wielded by various monied corporate interests. We must be very discerning then, about what false agendas are being promoted via the science of genetics and what are legitimate discoveries. For instance, the medical/pharmaceutical industries have, for years, argued that disorders like autism are genetic, even going so far as to suggest that they have possibly discovered the gene that causes it. Likewise, these industries have propagandized that mental disorders such as schizophrenia and multiple personality disorder are inherited genetically as well. However, closer analysis of the evidence alleged to support these conclusions actually demonstrates the exact opposite. In fact, the vast majority of real research conducted on these types of disorders lean toward the fact that they are environmental in nature, whether chemically induced or as result of personal experience. We have also witnessed the study of genetics and heredity used to justify and promote the horrendous eugenics agenda -- a theory and practice which is unfortunately very much alive-and-well today. Genetics and heredity have been used to justify the reduction of population, authoritarianism and top-down control of the elite over the masses, and the classification of whole groups of humans into the category of “inferior” for thousands of years, culminating in the tragedies of Nazi Germany and continuing on to the present day. Although moving underground and taking cover in euphemisms and politically correct terminology after the mass rejection of the “final solution,” eugenics has since been able to move back into the general scientific lexicon by stealth. UK: "School Suspends Cervical Cancer Jab" Link Fixed [11/05/11]   "A girls' school has suspended a vaccination programme for pupils, that includes a jabs which protects against cervical cancer, after the headteacher said it caused "chaos" in the classroom. Nurses come in eight times a year to administer the Cervarix vaccine and also the DPT booster for diptheria, whooping cough and tetanus; the BCG jab for tuberculosis; and an MMR booster for those who missed out when younger. Ms Jones emphasised she was not against the vaccinations, but wanted them given at a less disruptive time.  [...]"  Note: I spent four years in England ... a very programmed population always under some sort of social duress.

Commentary:  "The Spanish Influenza Epidemic Of 1918 Was Caused By Vaccinations" [11/04/11] "The first World War was of a short duration, so the vaccine makers were unable to use up all their vaccines. As they were (and still are) in business for profit, they decided to sell it to the rest of the population. So they drummed up the largest vaccination campaign in U.S. history. There were no epidemics to justify it so they used other tricks. Their propaganda claimed the soldiers were coming home from foreign countries with all kinds of diseases and that everyone must have all the shots on the market. The people believed them because, first of all, they wanted to believe their doctors, and second, the returning soldiers certainly had been sick. They didn’t know it was from doctor-made vaccine diseases, as the army doctors don’t tell them things like that. Many of the returned soldiers were disabled for life by these drug-induced diseases. Many were insane from postvaccinal encephalitis, but the doctors called it shell shock, even though many had never left American soil. The conglomerate disease brought on by the many poison vaccines baffled the doctors, as they never had a vaccination spree before which used so many different vaccines. The new disease they had created had symptoms of all the diseases they had injected into the man. There was the high fever, extreme weakness, abdominal rash and intestinal disturbance characteristic of typhoid. The diphtheria vaccine caused lung congestion, chills and fever, swollen, sore throat clogged with the false membrane, and the choking suffocation because of difficulty in breathing followed by gasping and death, after which the body turned black from stagnant blood that had been deprived of oxygen in the suffocation stages. In early days they called it Black Death. The other vaccines cause their own reactions — paralysis, brain damage, lockjaw, etc. When doctors had tried to suppress the symptoms of the typhoid with a stronger vaccine, it caused a worse form of typhoid which they named paratyphoid. But when they concocted a stronger and more dangerous vaccine to suppress that one, they created an even worse disease which they didn’t have a name for. What should they call it? They didn’t want to tell the people what it really was — their own Frankenstein monster which they had created with their vaccines and suppressive medicines. They wanted to direct the blame away from themselves, so they called it Spanish Influenza. It was certainly not of Spanish origin, and the Spanish people resented the implication that the world-wide scourge of that day should be blamed on them. But the name stuck and American medical doctors and vaccine makers were not suspected of the crime of this widespread devastation — the 1918 Flu Epidemic. It is only in recent years that researchers have been digging up the facts and laying the blame where it belongs. [...]"

In Finland, 79 children between the ages of four and 19 developed narcolepsy after receiving the Pandemrix vaccine in 2009 and 2010. Commentary: "FDA Rejects Merck’s Attempt to Expand Deadly Gardasil to Older Women" [10/07/11] "The Food and Drug Administration, a very pro-vaccine government organization, has stopped Merck’s attempts to increase the approved age range for death-linked HPV vaccine Gardasil to 45. It appears that even the FDA is concerned about the effects of the Gardasil immunization, which has been tied to over 49 deaths along with countless negative reactions that have led to hospitalizations and crippled health. The FDA stated that clinical data presented by Merck, the creator of the vaccine, failed to show that Gardasil effectively prevented infections in women 27 to 45 years old. This is particularly shocking due to the fact that pharmaceutical companies oftentimes illegally alter the numeric turnouts of studies regarding the effectiveness and safety of their drugs and immunizations. What this means is that in the event Merck smeared the results, they were still unconvincing enough to pass by the FDA, an agency that allows for genetically modified foods to be consumed by United States despite the warnings of health experts and major studies worldwide. The rejection will also lead to changes on the Gardasil label. Backers of a ban collected more than 7,700 signatures to put a measure on the November ballot in San Francisco to outlaw the circumcision of most male children. It was later blocked by a judge. They had argued that circumcision is an unnecessary surgery that can lead to sexual and health problems later in life. Those against the ban say it is an important religious practice for many Jews and Muslims, and that it can reduce the risk of cancer and sexually transmitted diseases. Commentary:  "3 Girls Dead, Others Hospitalized After Gardasil HPV Vaccine" [09/15/11]   "Following controversy over U.S. state legislatures requiring young girls to take Gardasil, Merck’s vaccine for human papillomavirus (HPV), a number of severe side effects have been observed along with the recent deaths of 3 young girls. Gardasil is now marketed towards men and women up to age 26 as a “preventative” tool against anal cancer. As of January 2010, Gardasil has been linked to 49 deaths and countless side-effects, while cancer associated with HPV is only responsible for 1% of all cancer deaths. Why then, is it being recommended to millions worldwide? As of June 2009, 15 million girls have been injected with the Gardasil vaccine. Out of 15 million people, 49 deaths may not seem like a lot. Rather than just poisoning dandelions and other weeds, the herbicide also seems to be causing spruces, pines, willows, poplars, and other unintended victims to croak." [...]"  

MSM: "EU High Court Rules On GMO Contamination; Opens Door To Biotech Liability" [09/08/11] "On Sept. 6, the European Union’s top court paved the way for farmers and beekeepers to recoup losses when their crops or honey become genetically contaminated from neighboring GM fields. The European Court of Justice ruled that all food products containing GMOs – whether intentional or not – must undergo an approval process. This marks a much stricter view than that being pushed by European Union Commissioner for health and consumer affairs, John Dalli, who wants no regulation of foods genetically contaminated “by accident,” a ludicrous idea given that coexistence ensures genetic contamination. At the center of the dispute is Bavarian beekeeper Karl Heinz Bablok who joined with several others in suing the state when its research plots of Monsanto’s GM corn, MON 810, contaminated his honey. In 2008, an administrative court banned Bablok from selling or giving away that honey. But in a bizarre turn, the Augsburg court also ruled that beekeepers have no claim to protection against the growing of GM crops. They immediately filed a new lawsuit. Discussing today’s ruling, attorneys for the beekeepers noted that they may now have “a claim for damages against a farmer if MON 810 pollen from his cultivation gets into their honey.”  [...]"

The Guatemala experiments are already considered one of the darker episodes of medical research in US history, but panel members say the new information indicates that researchers were unusually unethical, even when placed into the historical context of a different era. MSM: "Mexico To Give HPV Vaccine To All Girls From 2012" [09/01/11] "Mexico plans to administer the vaccine against human papillomavirus (HPV), which can cause cervical cancer, to all girls beginning next year, the country’s health ministry said Tuesday. Beginning in 2012, the HPV vaccine will be part of the normal course of shots given to all girls at the age of nine, Health Minister Jose Angel Cordova said. The girls will be made sterile and it may kill or paralyze those to whom this is given.
